Anne is a great friend and an amazing inventor of sorts. I showed up at The Wood the day before I left finally realizing that I had only my clothes packed in the car and nothing of Aaron's and the car was already 3/4 full. Roof racks were too much money. I presented my dilemna to Anne. With some fancy knots and my trusty bungee cords, we fastened the "Sport Rack" to my car in the Canadian Tire parking lot. It didn't move one inch and although things were a bit damp upon arrival in Halifax, it was a very successful project.
Aaron, Kirby, and I drove straight through from Toronto to Halifax on July 29th. It took us 22 hours. Poor Kirby was stuck in her cage for that long. With only a few stops for coffee and pee breaks, we made great time and the weather cooperated. We didn't even know that Kirby was there.
All in all, the trip to Halifax was a success. I visited with almost everyone I wanted to see: friends and family. I saw some great movies. I am not sitting in a Montreal hotel room with Kirby and the new addition to my traveling circus (haha) Mr. Freezie the Arctic Monkey- a gift from Seana and Andrew. You will see various pics on here of him as he too joins the caravan north.
Kuujjuaq tomorrow. Kuujjuaraapik Friday, Can't wait!!!
